The college instituted the DDG program to recognize graduating Liberal Arts students who have distinguished themselves in the areas of scholarship, leadership, and service to the college and university community. They are often honors students or those who have undertaken extensive undergraduate research projects. Others are active in leadership positions in the college, university, or community.
To date, over 360 Dean's Distinguished Graduates have been so honored. Whatever their specific achievements, these are students who best represent the academic and service ideals of the college.
In 2009, the college created the DDG Alumni Association in an effort to better connect DDG alumni to one another and the college. Since the college began to reach out to these alumni, the program has expanded to include semi-annual newsletters, invitations to attend and speak at banquets, and the creation of a DDG alumni Facebook page.
We are looking forward to building a meaningful and valued program to aid in enriching the lives of our DDGs even after they have left the Forty Acres.
