For AY 2009-10, 2010-11, and 2012-13
Compensation
· $14,000 in faculty replacement costs will be provided to the department for each faculty member receiving a full course release to teach a signature course. This amount includes special course expenses.
· For each UGS-303 course, $8,000 for each TA (at least one TA for each 50 students) will be provided directly to the department from UGS.
UGS has reserved funds for additional expenses for large format courses. Faculty may apply through department chairs directly to UGS for additional funds.
Departments may use Signature Course funds for either non-tenure-track faculty salaries or teaching assistant/assistant instructor salaries. By provost ruling, in no case may these funds be used to enhance any tenured or tenure-track faculty salary directly.
