Innovative Financing

The funding plan for the new building is unprecedented at The University of Texas at Austin and reflects the College of Liberal Arts’ commitment to this project and to the future.

Under the plan:

• The college will pay $68 million
• $15 million will come from private donations
• The university will pay the rest of the cost of the building

In addition, by taking advantage of today’s low interest rates and construction costs, the College has reduced the project’s cost from $100 million to $95 million.

“This is our shot at greatness,” Dean Randy L. Diehl says of the building’s potential to help attract top graduate students, faculty and grants. “A modern Liberal Arts building will ensure that we have the space we need to teach our students, promote world-class research and foster the collaboration and intellectual give-and-take that’s vital to a great university.”
