The funding plan for the new building is unprecedented at The University of Texas at Austin and reflects the College of Liberal Arts’ commitment to this project and to the future.
Under the plan:

In addition, by taking advantage of today’s low interest rates and construction costs, the College has reduced the project’s cost from $100 million to $95 million.

Diehl says of the building’s potential to help attract top graduate students, faculty and grants. “A modern Liberal Arts building will ensure that we have the space we need to teach our students, promote world-class research and foster the collaboration and intellectual give-and-take that’s vital to a great university.”

By including a number of sustainable design strategies, the architects expect the building to receive LEED Gold certification from the US Green Building Council.
