  • Central Data Storage
    • 02/08/12 - User acceptance testing is scheduled to be completed in February with a presentation of the results to the project steering committee to follow. The new bulk storage service is expected to be available to campus during the spring 2012 semester.
  • Centralized Authentication System Implementation
    • 02/03/2012 - The creation of a Prototype environment is underway, with the initial installation and configuration of servers complete. Development has begun for each of the coding efforts.

    • 02/08/12 - After the review and evaluation of the Request for Proposal (RFP) revealed very little difference in the final scores between Blackboard and Instructure (Canvas), the recommendation made was to move forward with a dual award. Both vendors have been notified of the award and contract negotiations are presently underway. Further information will be announced pending completion of the negotiations, which is targeted for March.
  • UTmail

  • Virtual Desktops (vDesk) for Computer Labs on Campus
    • 02/09/2012 - The next phase of the vDesk initiative continues with new customers coming on board in the past few months and the launch of a comprehensive review and analysis of the service in order to support long-term sustainability and define key points for further technology investment.
