Virtual Servers

Overview

Running a server requires having appropriate support infrastructure, taking physical security precautions, and performing regular hardware upgrades and maintenance. However, using an ITS virtual server eliminates these tasks while providing a virtual machine with a fully-fledged operating system completely customized for your individual needs.

ITS provides the infrastructure for the virtual server. You can choose to manage the operating system and all applications installed on your instance of the server yourself, or you can contract with ITS Server Technical Support to manage them for you.

Features

  • Includes maintenance of the physical servers and all necessary infrastructure
  • Physical servers are in a secure location and monitored 24/7
  • Each virtual server is backed up weekly
  • Windows Server 2008 - Core or Full, Enterprise or Standard (32 and 64 bit) installed at no cost (requires two VMUs and 10 GB additional disk space)
  • Windows 2003 Standard or Enterprise (32 and 64 bit) installed at no cost
  • RedHat Enterprise Linux 5 or 6 (32 or 64 bit) installed at no cost
  • You must provide the media and license keys for any other operating systems
  • Consolidating your server needs by using a virtual server saves significant power - approximately 6570 kWh per year per server
