Two LBJ School Grads Profiled by UT as Top Scholars Making Their Mark on the World
On May 19, around 8,000 students graduated from The University of Texas at Austin. The university has chosen 11 of those graduates to profile as exemplary scholars working to make their mark on the world. Two LBJ School students were among those 11– Allison Ramirez, who has worked for many years to improve the lives of migrants from El Salvador, and Anustubh Agnihotri, who will continue his work in international developement and deciphering the role technology plays in public service delivery with a position at the Poverty Action Lab.
LBJ School Washington Program Enters Second Year
The LBJ School of Public Affairs’ Washington, D.C. Program enters its second year with three new summer graduate courses and the addition of two new nationally recognized practitioners as adjunct faculty. The Program was launched in May 2011 with two graduate seminars. The program is expanding to include a larger number of summer courses, and within three to four years, will evolve into a full semester of courses to complement D.C.-based internships, career fairs, alumni events, and other programs.
LBJ School Releases Report on Conditions for Certified Juveniles in Texas County Jails
LBJ School Senior Lecturer Michele Deitch has released a new report titled “Conditions for Certified Juveniles in Texas County Jails,” the second in her series on juveniles in the adult criminal justice system in Texas. This report provides a comprehensive picture of the conditions for certified juveniles awaiting trial in adult county jails based on a survey of 41 jails across the state of Texas.
