UGS Ambassadors

School of Undergraduate Studies (UGS) Student Ambassadors share their experiences in UGS with prospective students, current UT Austin students, and the UT Austin community. They represent the school at outreach events, such as UGS information sessions, and assist with various school events. We provide training on each program to complement the Ambassadors’ unique perspectives.

Student Ambassador positions for 2012-13 are available beginning June 1, 2012. Although 2012-13 positions typically extend through May 2013, reappointments are processed each semester (summer, fall, spring) based on students’ performance and availability.

Position Requirements

Ambassadors must be current undergraduate students in good academic and disciplinary standing with the university. They are expected to be familiar with all of the programs and services of the School of Undergraduate Studies and to share that information with a variety of audiences in a professional manner.

Student Ambassadors will be assigned to individual events at the discretion of the Outreach Coordinator, who will survey Ambassadors regarding their availability at the beginnings of semesters and as needed. Ambassadors are paid an hourly rate and are appointed as Student Assistants.
